Jason was interviewed by Italy's Coastal will be featured in the upcoming edition of LOSING TODAY in the "Who's Next" section - quite the honor considering this magazine is the equivalent to our genre's Rolling Stone. And finally we have updated our press pictures section with a slew of new images from a recent coastal photo shoot. Much thanks to Josh Penrod, photographer extraordinaire!

New web site finally up and running

You may or may not have noticed that we have a new site. While our old site served us well, since it was around three years old it was time to for it to retire. We trust it will enjoy its golden years in Florida. If we ever tour down there, we will most likely stop in and catch up on old times.

New album, Halfway to You, out today

Our long awaited and even longer procrastinated sophomore long player is officially out today. We are confident all of the Coastal fans devoted enough to be reading the news on our site already got their copy in advance directly from us or from our lovely label, Words on Music.

6-22-04 - our follow up full length CD 'halfway to you' is done and in
our hot little hands. order your advance copy through
today (you should have seen the order info on our homepage), otherwise
you'll have to wait until august 10.

10-25-03 - we have started recording our follow up full length cd to
be released on words on music in the US with licensing deals in the
works for europe. we have a show coming up with our friends the
autumns here in provo on december 15.

9-8-03 - OK, so we've been offline and haven't updated the site in
ages. we've been busy. josh's wife sarah had a baby boy named eli.
luisa and i have had a crazy summer. jim is still in the army with
pauly shore. but, we are working on a new album and have a song out on
the latest masstransfer zine comp.

3-14-03 - well we are back from our short UK tour which went very
well. new reviews have been posted in the press section.
we finally uploaded pictures of our split CD release. see the images
page. we have a show on may 17 with low's chairkickers artists the
rivulets and haley bohnar as well as locals maya shore.

1-29-03 - coastal's 'this ageless night' was voted a best of 2002 by the coastal debut cd was voted a best of 2001 by the
kickbright zine in the US and in Belgium.

12-19 - coastal will be heading to europe on a short tour of england.
we will be playing in nottingham on february 13 with LORNA and then
opening for LOW in london on valentines day (february 14) at the union

12-16 - just finished a new song called 'eternal' for a compilation on
moonpalace records out of spain. for stars will also appear on this
CD, which should be out in february. stream this new song on our site. link there through our music page on this site.

our new album "this ageless night" is making its way to many online
shops. it is a featured release on

the somewhere cold site voted our winter e.p. the best of 2002.

luisa and i are contributing to the new lorna album in the meantime
and the band is working on a few more compilation appearances before
we start on our next full-length. Happy Holidays everyone!

10-9 - our new split album with midsummer will be released on october
18 at a show in provo, utah with us and them as they head out to the
CMJ festival in NY. coastal haven't played provo since opening for low
in april 2002, so come out if you can. the 10-song CD can be
preordered via this website until our regular distributors get it.
with no false modesty i have to say the disc is quite tasty.

8-1 - finishing up 5 songs for a split album with midsummer out on the
sunseasky label some time in october.

a couple new interviews and CD/EP reviews have been posted in the
press section.

5-1 - jason finished an original track, 'calvary' for the upcoming LDS
artists compilation 'our turn' due out in september 2002. LOW has
contributed an original song for this compilation as well.

3/22 - we are almost done a new song for a compilation also featuring the
band LOW. the comp and the song are as yet unnamed. stay tuned for

1/28 - jason and luisa's baby girl mara ann gough was born at 11:18 pm
today. she has red hair and was 6 lbs. 12 oz. 19" long. see the
'images' section for pictures.

1/18 - the winter e.p. was released last week. copies can be purchased
directly from the band, at the dreams by degrees site, insound, and
clairecords. more distributors to come. stream the whole e.p. check

12/1 - the 'lonely this Christmas' compilation debuted on BBC Radio
across England today.

11/27 - you may now pre-order the 'winter' e.p. via the redesigned

11/2 - just finished our original Christmas song 'snow in bethlehem'
for the holiday charity compilation 'lonely this christmas?' being
organized by the UK's lorna. all proceeds are going to UNICEF. the
compilation features such fine bands as silverman, lorna, and many

amazing CD.

10/26 - check the 'press' section for two new coastal interviews.

9/17 - we just finished recording the 'winter' e.p., which will be the
first release on the new san francisco label dreams by degrees. the
e.p. will be out on 10" vinyl at the end of november. for studio shots
see the 'images' section.

7/10 - the coastal s/t CD was voted a best of 2001 release by

6/25 - the legendary DJ John Peel has played our 'northern' single
(becalmed records, UK) twice now on his PEEL show on BBC Radio 1.
needless to say, we are elated to have our record played by the most
famous DJ in the world.

6/19 - coastal s/t is the #1 most requested CD at KZUU at WSU
(washington state university) for the second week in a row.
